Pros and cons of online education

I think the cons of online educaton is that we as students, don´t get enough social contact as we would get at school. Also, we don´t learn as good as at at school because its basically on us to teach ourselves things. On the other side of things we actually like to get up few minutes before class an ten being in the warmth of home.
Well, to be fair there aren´t too much pros but I will try to write at least two. One positive thing is that you have much more time for everything compared to school learning. Everything else is about focusing. It´s much more harder to focus on something that a teacher is saying. Sometimes there are problems with internet network. I can´t talk to my friends, my social life no longer exists, I totally missed the chance to remake my grades in Maths.
As you all propably know, ever since the coronavirus pandemic started, almost all countries across the world have taken some security measures, to try and prevent the virus from spreading more. One of these security measurments was also making kids have online classes, so the virus doesnt spread when they all see each other in school. However that means that education changes a lot, because not only the teachers cannot see the students, but the students can basically do whatever they want behind their monitors and the teachers have no way of finding out. That is just one of many cons of online education. I personally think that one big pro is that students, that live further away from schools dont have to wake up super early because they need to travel a long distance. This doesnt really apply for me, because i live close to the school, but it is a really big pro for those who live far. I think that a big pro is that we actually dont have to wake up for the first school hour all time, i actually really enjoy waking up a bit later, because my first online class isnt the very first school hour. For what I think the cons are, and there are a lot of them, I think that the biggest one is that the teachers cannot see what the students are doing if they dont have a webcamera, and the students can for example cheat during a test without the teacher knowing. Speaking of webcameras, they are also a big problems, because not everybody has them, and in for example our school, all of the extra webcameras our school had were borrowed almost immidiately by other students.
First off, the pros, the main appeal of online education at least for me is that I do not have to do much work compared to present education. This lets me focus on more important things such as having more time to prepare for entrance exams instead of having to sit in school attending useless subjects. These useless subjects are completely abandoned during online education, there are not any online classes or homework. The only useless subject this does not apply to is IKT. Another positive is that I only have 2-3 online classes per day, instead of 6-7 during present education and they are mostly important subjects. The cons, the main flaw in online education is that I do not get to learn that much, which can be a good thing as I stated with the useless subjects, but this also applies to the more important ones. Also, not all teachers have the required skill set to do these online classes. Distant education also makes space for everyone to be lazy (not doing homework, not attending online classes), but this applies to teachers as well. Overall, I think I currently prefer online education because I have more free time especially when I need to study for entrance exams.
I think the most obvious advantage of the online classes for me is the fact that I save a lot of time. On normal circumstances I go to school by bus and before I get to school it takes about half an hour (sometimes less sometimes more). The same with getting back home from school. That means with online classes I save about an hour a day just because I stay at home. Also to add to that, It's nice that I can stay at home and do all the work from there. On the other hand the biggest problem with the online classes are the technical problems. Since the online classes started this january there wasn't a single day without some technical problems. Sometimes I lose internet connection, sometimes my microphone doesn't work right, sometimes there are problems with the homeworks I send or the school web page doesn't work. And the list goes on and on and I'm not the only one who has technical problems. Basicaly everyone of my classmates had or has some as well. The worst part comes when we need to explain this to the teachers. Some of them understand it and some of them just start saying that we are lying and that they will instantly give us an F.
So, I’d say one of the pros is the fact we don’t have to get up as early as when we go to “real” school. My computer is quite fast, so I can get up at 7:50 and I brush my teeth, dress into proper clothes and get ready for school in ten minutes, unlike normal school, where I have to get up at about 6:45. Also I think we have more freedom, for example, I can eat my breakfast while listening to the teacher. I think there are more cons than pros though. I don’t learn as much as I’d learn in school. I quickly lose focus and I get side-tracked very easily. In maths class, I have to talk about the topics we take there with my dad because I just don’t get them. I like going to school more than sitting at home also because I see more people and friends. I just kind of miss human contact. I barely get to see even my closest friends now. I prefer “real” school. Even though I don’t like a lot of stuff about “real” school, I still think it’s more useful than online school. Also, I'm kinda nervous because we have the exams for high school, and I don’t know if the preparation will be enough.
We have online education for a pretty long time now. It has begun in the spring of 2020 and here we are in 2021 still on online education. It has some pros and cons that probably everyone noticed while having online education. Probably the best thing about this online education is the fact that we can sleep a little bit longer. Normally I would wake up at 6:30AM, make a breakfast, clean by teeth, dress up and go to school but while we are on online education I can just set an alarm on 7:45AM. Computer will turn on in few minutes while it is turning on I get some food and I eat it later. That‘s nice and all but it has also many downsides. Indeed I believe it has more downsides than upsides. For example how easy it is to lose focus. It probably happened to everyone at least once on the online education. In school we must focus at least a little bit because the teacher is right in front of us but in online education it isn‘t the same. Here we have many windows on our computer, things around us etc. and it is instant. We stop listening and we miss many important informations. Next con is the content of the each hour. Sometimes we get pretty simple task to just complete 1-2 exercises and send them until the next day but sometimes we get a hard job that we wouldn’t even get in school and we must send it until the hour is over. One thing is the completing of the task but next problem is the submitting of our work. Majority of the time servers of Bakaláři are unresponsive and it takes up to 5 minutes to load completely. Sometimes they also send the answer like 3 times. The idea of online education always sounded interesting to me but now I know that it isn’t. I hope that we will go to the school soon and we will focus more on the Math and on Czech.
Online education is definitely very different from the way we usually study and from what I' ve heard, everyone perceives it as nothing more than an inferior way of doing school. However, every coin has two sides and I think online education has both pros and cons worth mentioning. Some of the bad things about online education are that some teachers still aren't completely used to it, the students are distracted by other things and there are less exams so not knowing the things you were supposed to learn doesn't feel as consequencial as it did before. It's also much easier to cheat now so students are less inclined to work hard in general. I think this is the main reason why students are getting worse results. One other thing that's bad about online classes is that everything takes more time to organize. On the other hand,it feels like teachers have a lot more control in their lessons than usual, so I wouldn't say there is that big of a difference in how productive online classes and normal classes are. I also really like how studying is more comfortable now, and it's good that students don't have to waste time making their way to school and back - it saves a ton of time which leads to better sleep routines, which was one of the main things students used to complain about. Some classes got better because students are encouraged to learn more things themselves, but this also made some teachers think that they aren't responsible for what the students learn and that only made some classes worse.
So, i will start with the cons, because there are lots of cons in that thing. The most annoying thing about this is that i must have a webcam on the meetings, and i hate it. The second con about this is that i am recieving two times more homework than usualy specially from useless subjects, such as health education, citizen education and arts. And now some pros. The biggest pro about it is that i can easily cheat, its so easy to get good grades now. The second best thing is that i can get up late, because some of our subjects start after 8 am. Or i can blame it on technical issues of my PC so thats pretty good or if i dont like the subject i can play game or watch documentaries, actually i forgot about not meeting some people i hate, that is really helping my mood. Another good thing is sleeping, i can mute myself and enjoy at least 20 minutes of sleep. Also i like the idea of not having the afternoon lessons, because i can work out, or learn something new or practice for the high school exams.
So far, online education wasn´t very helpful for me. In the first few months it seemed like a very good thing. Except of course not learning anything. But as the time flew it became very boring and stressful. I started to realize how bad it´s gonna be for our generation. Of course online education has some pozitive things but as for me the negative ones are worse. Right now, I wish we could go to school tomorrow. I know it sounds weird and I never thought I´d say that but it´s true.
